WELCOME
Take a step outside your shell
To drink the secrets of the well
No longer will you fit inside
There's no more need to run and hide
It's easy now to be yourself
And set your fears upon a shelf
To close your eyes for just a thought
And reconsider all you're taught
Wishes made when you were young
Captured in the songs you sung
Freed your heart to laugh and play
Reminders of a former day
So now you look through open eyes
To ask the hows, the whens, the whys
To search the world to find your part
And free the dreams within your heart

Beauty is skin-deep (opposition) – focus on inner beauty
According to Oxford dictionary
Beauty: combination of qualities giving pleasure to the sight and other senses or to the mind
Roget's New Millennium™ Thesaurus, First Edition (v 1.1.1)
Skin deep: superficial
+ Beauty is not only skin-deep, but exists within as well.
ð Inner beauty
- ‘Giving pleasure to the mind’: appeal to people’s emotions
- What inner beauty can be: patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control
+ Comparison between an ugly person with good character traits vs. a beautiful person with a nasty personality.
Would you refer to the person as beautiful or drop-dead gorgeous? (Should be the latter)
Eg. The story of Beauty and the Beast.
- In what way was she beautiful? She didn’t mind how the beast looked and accepted him just the way he was. That is the beauty of grace. And that was probably why she was called Beauty.
- Also, compared to her step sisters, she was the kindest of them.
Tie up: My stand is that beauty does not only appear on the surface but dwells deep down inside as well. We should not judge a book by its cover but flip it open to read its content. A beautiful person does not have to be pleasant looking in order to be labelled as ‘beautiful’.
That was my research for my class debate tomorrow. Haha, it's not a very strong argument, but ok, whatever..
Did you know that reading the bible is very exciting? Prayer is exciting too! This path that I'm taking may not be an easy one, but it's definitely fulfilling. Fill that void in your heart today. Don't wait too long. Don't wait until the gap becomes too big and you feel like you're falling away. Come back to Him today.
Hee hee, this is such a random post, pardon me. Oh! I'm going to be emcee for my school's 45th anni. So exciting! Haha, I've waited so long to be an emcee. Do you think it's part of His plan for me? Because I wasn't supposed to be in the whole emcee fanfare in the first place.
Oh, and I was chatting with someone on msn yesterday and the person was telling me, which side do you wan to show? What the person meant was, would you like others to see your positive self and be an encouragement to others? Or be pessimistic all the time? Well, it spoke to me a lot and now I know what kind of image I want to reflect on others. Yup, yup..
