Take a step outside your shell
To drink the secrets of the well
No longer will you fit inside
There's no more need to run and hide
It's easy now to be yourself
And set your fears upon a shelf
To close your eyes for just a thought
And reconsider all you're taught
Wishes made when you were young
Captured in the songs you sung
Freed your heart to laugh and play
Reminders of a former day
So now you look through open eyes
To ask the hows, the whens, the whys
To search the world to find your part
And free the dreams within your heart

George Muller - Man of Faith
When George was in his childhood and youth, he did not take God seriously although he was studying to become a Lutheran minister. Even after repenting, he still went back to his old ways of cheating and lying. It was only until he went for a prayer meeting at someone's house did he feel accepted and turned away from his ways.
From then onwards, he wanted to live his life for God. He started preaching at various churches. He also received an invitation to become a missionary. That seemed to be 'the ultimate goal' for George. However, that was not what God had intended for him at that time. What God wanted George to do was to establish orphanages and finally, an institution which will reach people from all over the world, giving out bibles.
George gave up the offer of having a job which provides a stable income but instead, he depended solely on God to provide for his needs. Especially for the orphanages, he never once asked for money from man but looked to God to supply him with ample food and money in order to sustain the children. Throughout the years, God never failed to bring in the money on time.
Today, I feel that we need to have that same amount of faith. It's not easy to entirely depend on God, neither is it wise to work along the ways of this world.
"Think not that I have the gift of faith which is mentioned along with 'the gifts of healing', 'the working of miracles', and that on that account I am able to trust in God. If I were only one moment left by myself my faith would utterly fail. It is not true that my faith is that gift of faith. It is the same-self faith which is found in every believer for little by little it has been increasing for the last six and twenty years."
George's faith in God was extraordinary, but not impossible. There are times when we face trials and setbacks and we feel that there's absolutely no way out, we slip in our faith. However, "the greater the difficulty, the easier for faith". If the problem that we are facing may prove to be challenging, surrendering it to God and seeing how He can make things right again encourages us to take that leap in our faith journey.
The thing that struck me most was the fact that God never changes. About 150 years ago, George depended on prayer and the bible to carry out God's plan. His encouragement and peace came from God alone. Now, in 2005, we still have to get on our knees and pray, read the bible to know more about God and His word for us and He still answers prayers just like He did 150 years ago. Purely through prayer and reading the bible, we are able to have an intimate relationship with the King of the universe. How great is that? However, for many people, they have missed out on this wonderful opportunity. God is looking for faithful men and women, but who will remain faithful?
George Muller was a man of faith, surrendering his whole life to God and allowing Him to work in his life, thus blessing him with abundant joy and satisfaction. I'm very encouraged by the way George lives his life. If God had such a distinct plan in his life, I'm sure He also has one for mine.

Ooh, i just feel so blessed. So blessed, so blessed. Tee hee. Every day I wake up, it's just a fresh start. There are so many things to look foward to, so many things to see. And God's blessings overflow like anything. Remember the song 'One Day'? It goes.. "So blessed, I can't contain it, so much I gotta give it away..." Yup, that's how I feel now.
And "I [we] believe, it is now.." This Sunday's rally is definitely going to be THE event. So, do go. K? (And if you are reading this, I really hope that you would go. I do want to see you there. =))
Exams are coming, I haven't started my revision (or should I say, studies). Lol. Yes, I better start soon.... Studying has it's fun side too... Haha..
Crossroads The clock's ticking The time's a wasting Things are changing But He's still waiting
It's been a long long time Since the beginning But He's so patient Still waiting for me
Crossroads When will we ever meet Crossroads When will I finally see Crossroads I need to look for Him Crossroads There He is
Hope is something that you need For a future to spend with Him Thank goodness I don't need to plead It all just comes, naturally

Haha, I've done a new layout again. Didn't really like my previous one, what with the extra small typing space fo the tag board. This one isn't much better either, you have to type by faith. :)
Oh wells, sometimes, things don't go the way you want it to go, but you know what? God has a better plan. He will show you what it is in due time and everything will fall into place. Trust Him. Also, I'm really blessed by the little things that have happened this week. Stuff that have been said, the actions taken, care.
Thank you for opening the doors for me. (:
Prayer points: + For friends to be able to make it for this Sunday's rally. (Have you given your apple and CD?) + FOTS
Remember, when we work, we work. When we pray, God works!

Ok, I finally changed me blog layout. But it's not nice. The words are big. And the tag board thingy is super small. Anyone knows how to make it right? Haha..
I think I have the same problem as Carolyn! I know what I want to blog about beforehand but when I blog, everything's gone. Haha.. ok, I'll probably update this some other time when there's something good to blog about. For now....
