Take a step outside your shell
To drink the secrets of the well
No longer will you fit inside
There's no more need to run and hide
It's easy now to be yourself
And set your fears upon a shelf
To close your eyes for just a thought
And reconsider all you're taught
Wishes made when you were young
Captured in the songs you sung
Freed your heart to laugh and play
Reminders of a former day
So now you look through open eyes
To ask the hows, the whens, the whys
To search the world to find your part
And free the dreams within your heart

So what if you had a the perfect life So what if you had 2 As and a B (that B must have really spoilt your day huh) So what if your top matched your bottom and shoes So what if you had perfectly manicured nails So what if the way you talked was cool, punctuated with profanity So what if the way you walked was the trend So what if you had the best shopping pals So what if you knew about the best-kept secrets
So what happens if one day your perfect world came crashing down So what happens if you get Us for exams So what happens if you're no longer the popular kid in school So what happens if your pink tee and neon green pants don't match So what happens if there's no one to share your secrets with So what happens if there's no one to depend on when you're lonely So what happens if there is no love? So what happenes if men fail? God never fails.
1 Corinthians 13 [NIV]
Love
1If I speak in the tonguesof men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
1 Peter 4:7, 8
7The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. 8Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Ohh, I had such a long and zonked out day. AHhh.
Today's a Friday right, so it's the shortest school day of the week, but it felt as long as any other day. During geog tutorial,
Lilin: Grace, you were sleeping during geog! Me: No, I wasn't. Lilin: I saw you closing you eyes. Me: Ahh, I was resting. Lilin: That means you slept la! Me: No, I was resting and listening. Lilin: So you can multitask huh? Me: Haha, yeah.
Obviously, I slept without even knowing it, but I was still subconsciously listening to what was going on. Gah. And then, during our slacky PW period, my group was chatting away. They probably allowed it cos it was considered as a team bonding activity. Heh. And so, my boring school day was finally over.
In the afternoon, I attended Erika's scholarship ceremony with a few others. Surprisingly, I saw 6 other people whom I recognise, getting the scholarships too. Cool. Tecky, Hong Wei, Khee Onn, Nadia Shah, the NPCC guy from BP and Yi Biao, my primary school classmate. Congrats again to all of you! When I stepped into NP, I was so shocked cos it was like a mini HDB estate! There was a food centre, a library and what's most amazing, they had their own traffic light and zebra crossing! My goodness! Shocking!
Yeah, we went shopping later on and Tim (if you're reading this), you do realise that we followed you the whole afternoon so you could get your stuff but you didnt get anything in the end! Haha. Well, 1 lesson I learnt today was to never go shopping after school with all your school stuff. Firstly, you'll end up extra tired and whiny. Secondly, you can't use you hands very much as they are already occupied with your bags. Thirdly, you're not in the mood for shopping after all that school stuff's drilled into your head. It was kinda uncomfortable, which was further aggravated by the warm and humid weather. Oh, but the highlight of the day was *drum roll*...
Zephy, Syahir and I waited for 21 buses to get home! Yay! How exciting right. We were at the 190 bus stop, waiting for space on the buses (or in fact waiting for the buses to stop at the bay so we could board, which a few didn't), and then walking to the 700 bustop in hope of getting onto a realtively empty 700 or 171. But no, it didn't happen happen of cos. So we queued for the taxi at the stand. Haha, after a while, 2 rather empty 190s passed but no, we didn't go for it cos we were already in the queue. Ok, so in the end we decided to take 190 and chased after the next bus, which of course, we missed again. (that was the 20th one btw). And we finally got on the 21st bus. Yay, *applause*. I've never waited this long for a bus la. 1 hr!! Wahhhh. Irritating. So, another lesson learnt is, don't take the public transport during peak hours or late at night. You'll either squeeze or wait like crazy. I was super zonked out by then la.
Oh, and when we were at the taxi stand of some really glam hotel, I took a peek at the toilet and guess what? It's fit for royalty! Apparently, the sign on the door read 'Queen'. The toilet was plastered with red stripey wallpaper, adorned with chunky-framed mirrors and was fitted with halogen lights in each cubicle. The toilet seat was like made of dark wood and wahh, the flush was touch-sensored! Amazing. The sink right, was super high tech. The tap was automatic (quite common nowadays), but the soap dispenser was controlled by a touch sensor too!!! Oh my goodness! I thought I stepped into the wrong place or something. Who knows, there might be a hidden camera somewhere. The toilet was so grand, no one was inside and it was rather creepy actually. Haha yeah, but it was cool. Yup.
And yes, that's the end of my zonked out day. I'm so tired!

Well, well. This school week was off to a stable start. You know, I'm glad we can go to school, cos it makes the day so worthwhile. Like, you wake up real early in the morning and make full use of every single minute till the end of school and then you go fo CCA which is not time wasted at all, take a short break and then mugg or do homework or whatever till it's time to hit the sack. It's like every minute is used and not wasted. So cool. As compared to the holidays where the day goes by so quickly without us having to do anything but to slack. So uneventful. Ok, maybe school's not the only factor which fills the void of the day. But in any case, I think my day wasn't wasted (not counting the time I slept during Lit! ah, felt so bad, but I couldn't help it, i was just sooo sleepy. at least i still took notes. haha)
Yup, tmr's a fresh new school day and I end early tmr!! Yay. Better use the time after school to mugg! Need to revise a lot of stuff. It's about 12 more week to PROMOS. Start now people! (hey, that's still quite a long time away actually. hehe)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EUNICE!
Yup, we had a surprise birthday party for Eunice today at her place. Glad she enjoyed it, even though most of the time we were all talking among ourselves. Oh well. (at least I got to know more about what Dot's doing, which is real cool stuff) We got Eunice this really cool (literally) water cooler thingy from Toy 'R' Us. Hey, I think it's quite useful. I mean, I would love to have one in my room! And Clarice's durian cake was real good, even though she kept saying it was an ugly durian cake, haha. You should bake such stuff more often! Oh man, and guessed what happened, I walked from Lakeside MRT station to Jurong Point, haha, it's quite far actually. Saw 2 fat chameleons along the way. EEKS. And what's most eeky today, I think a lizard or something small which could move went into my shoe and crawled out soon after that. Yucks. Don't ask me what that was, I couldn't see in the dark, and I don't think I wanna know.
And speaking about talking among ourselves, I see myself surrounded by cliques everyday! I'm not saying that cliques are meant to be condemned, that they should disappear from the face of the earth and should be totally eradicated. What I'm saying is, we should learn how to step out of our comfort zone! Sure, I know how home-y it can feel when you're together with close friends and always hang out together, there's this sense of familiarity, comfort and trust right? But what about those who don't have a clique? What about those who can't fit in? What about those who just blend into our lives without us even noticing them? Kinda sad right, when we're all so enthusiastic about oh, reaching the world for Christ, going to the ends of the earth, being missionaries.
This post is not meant to offend or to arrow anyone (oh no, that's not my intention at all) but to gently remind every single one of us. Well, for starters, I'm guilty of what I'm against. I know I can't mix around with others when I find it difficult to fit in myself. (Yes, I do face such situations many a time.) So, that's something which I have to learn how to overcome. What about you? I know of people who see beyond themselves and give selflessly. Hospitality comes as second nature to them. Well, you may say that no no no, that isn't placed number #1 on your agenda list but, it's not an excuse to hog the 'privilege' of exclusivity. Yup. That's all I have to rant about for the day.

But Lilin's not going now, aiya, sad. Ok, I'm sure we'll still have lotsa fun. Gah, i'll post again when I have something post-worthy (or when i rmb a significant event. my mine's totally blank now).
